LOOK at this shaggy boy! He is in desperate need of not just a haircut but a summer haircut. The guy in the back is done & happy.
Once they step into mom’s barber shop, I usually have them strip to their undies & put on “the cape”. Seems more professional. And fun for them.
I plug in the clippers & use an adjustable guide that goes from 1-4.
I start on the top of the head using the clip set at 4. Quickly work through that and adjust the guide to #2. I use #2 for the entire rest of head making sure that you also go up the sides near the top of head but don’t creep into the top. Keep the clippers angled just a bit where the sides end and the top of the head begins.
After I go around the side of the head I change the adjustable guide to number 1. I use this to do the base of the neck not going up too far on the head. Just enough to get the very bottom pretty short & then blended with the rest of the back. You don’t want to go too far up the head or you will see a line.
Next I take off the clip and shape the bottom of the neck . My boys are very hairy so I like to use this and go down to the bottom of the neck starting at the hairline. I like to start behind the ear at an angle…
Then move the clippers again like you are making an octagon shape almost…
And then at the very bottom holding the clippers so that it is straight across the bottom…
Be sure not to forget the other side.
Next up…the ears. I just hold the clippers at an angle and use the very corner of the clippers….be careful or you can nick the ear or accidentally cut into the side of his hair…
Follow along the ear from back to front…then sideburns…just hold the clippers straight across where ever you want the sideburns to end. I usually like it to be just a hair below the starting of the ear.
There you have it. Super easy, they look nice and clean and COOL.
seriously just saved $30. Doing these 3 haircuts and it only took me about 6 minutes each.
