Advent Calendars

I’m so excited about these advent calendars I’ve been working on for the upcoming barn sale.  So much fun for kids to count down for Christmas.

Itty bitty stockings

I like the garland style advent calendars.  This one would be cute hanging from a fire place or even on the wall somewhere. You could fill each stocking with a small piece of candy or small trinket.  ( if you look close under the table you can see a little boys elbow.  Haha. The boys were playing at the table and I needed them to hide. It was so funny because Charlie kept photo bombing the picture in the corner of the table.  We were laughing pretty hard but I finally got one.)

These sturdy paper bags could be filled with candies or trinkets.  I love these. I stenciled on all the numbers and then found these adorable Christmas embellishments.  I also punched a whole thru the top of the bag and added some twine so that you could fill the bag and then tie.  I like these because you could tie to a rope for a garland or just place out on a side table for the kids to pick everyday.

Just a quick note…I made all of these calendars reusable.  These are time consuming but fun and super cute.  So if you are careful these could all be reused each year.

I stapled some burlap ribbon to a sturdy frame and used mini clothespins to clip on these envelopes. For the envelopes I hot glued some lace and cut out some numbers that I bought off of etsy & and glued those on as well.  For the activity, I typed out a bunch of easy ideas and printed them on cardstock. Then cut them out & used double sided stickies to attach them to these adorable shaped cards I found t Hobby Lobby.

I found these burlap bags at Hobby Lobby. So cute for trinkets, candy or activity. I used the same numbers from etsy just a larger size. Printed them and cut them out. Punched a hole in the corner & attached with jute rope.  I displayed them on a tray but you could also use a sturdy rope and make a garland with them.  Just depends on what is going into them.  Could be too heavy if you overfill them.

Hot glued the mini clothes pins.

I took this old picture I had and painted the entire thing white.  Then glued on all of these mini clothespins.  Stenciled & painted the numbers onto the envelopes.  Printed out another copy of my activities I used in another advent calendar, on card stock, cut them out & used the double sided stickies to stick them to these cards I bought.  I used cards because it has a fun Christmas pattern on it & also tough like cardstock.  Then stuffed each envelope.  For the greenery, I used some I found at Hobby Lobby and tied a little burlap around it.  Then stapled it on with a staple gun.

I have several more that I’m working on.  I can’t decide which one I want to make for my kids.  I just know I really want to make one for this year.  But like I said, these are all reusable.

These will also all be for sale at the Barn Sale coming up.  Hope to see you there.

Fun! They will love it! I’m thinking I’m going to make the burlap bag one for the kids but also include the envelopes with the fun activity.
